Arguments against legalization: Traffic accidents. Arguments
This point is closely linked to the potential increase in the number of users and, above all, the idea that drug use involves aggression and social irresponsibility. Without repeating those counterarguments, I propose a thought. Just as it is dangerous to drive when we go short of sleep after a heavy meal or when we drink alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs that can alter their effects last while and psychomotor reflexes is recklessly endangering to third parties. But again we must bear in mind that the irresponsible use of substances is always higher during periods of prohibition, when there is no culture of use required. We know that a significant number of traffic accidents are the main cause of alcohol consumption. Do you offer someone as a reasonable solution to this problem imprison those who consumed at home wine or beer? Does anyone think it would be reasonable to minimize traffic accidents, police devote to prosecute those who manufacture or sell alcoholic beverages?
